Our Committee

Ian Shearer
Chairman
I am proud to take over the position of Chairman, and I intend to carry on from the good work of Kirk our outgoing Chairman, to help the group to grow.
I was one of the forming members and only left the group to start my medical training then, rejoined when my workload decreased. I took on the role of Fundraising Co-Ordinator during which time I have worked with a great team of fundraisers and got to meet some great people who have supported us in many different ways.
I have been a biker since the days when you had to have someone with a red flag leading you and I owe a great deal to the NHS for the support they have given my daughter who has Down’s Syndrome.
I am a motorcycle responder with Mersey Medical Services but I am now easing back on my jobs so I can dedicate more time to Merseyside and Cheshire Blood Bikes.

Nick Stockley
Fleet Manager
I’ve worked in the motor trade for as long as I can remember and had motorcycles since the age of 16, being able to combine motorcycling with supporting the NHS is a very rewarding and enjoyable use of my spare time. I started volunteering with MCBB in 2021 and have found an amazing team all giving up their spare time providing 100% effort 100% free of charge.

Louise Avery
Secretary
I’m a Chartered Surveyor and Managing Director of Avery & Co Surveyors. I’m also an ex-Special Inspector for Merseyside Police. I love motorcycling and in 2018 I joined the group as a rider, passed my advanced riding test and have never looked back. I accepted the role of Secretary in 2024, and am very proud to be involved with such a passionate and enthusiastic group of volunteers.

Colin Dew-Parry
Treasurer
I joined MCBB to use my motorcycle for positive purposes, rather than just the daily commute. I joined as a rider in 2016 whist still having a full time job. A Chartered accountant by profession, the Treasurer role came to me after about a year riding for the group – and I still have that full-time job too.

Louise Burns-Lunt
Fundraising Manager
I am a Chartered Accountant and Owner and Director of Sorrymate.com solicitors. My work with Sorrymate involves me in seeing the accidents that bikers are unfortunately involved in, and through that I came into contact with the National Association of Blood Bikes. After finding out more about it I contacted our local group to volunteer. I love it and find it very rewarding.

Pete Preston
Member Liaison Lead
Pete has been an active member of the group since November 2016, averaging 10,000 miles per year on a blood bike. The reason? I’m still alive!! Thanks to the work done in a laboratory identifying the fact that at 41 years of age I was about to develop oesophageal cancer, a lone parent of three very young children! The intervention of the NHS and a highly skilled surgeon means I get to see my children grow up, and I’m here to do my best to help others in the only way I can.
